Guardian Home Program
We are excited about our breeding program and the opportunity to raise beautiful, well-bred, sweet puppies for families to enjoy! Yet, we do not want to sacrifice the quality of life for our mama dogs in our efforts. In order to keep our program going, with each of our dog’s well-being in mind, we utilize a Guardian Home Program.
What is a guardian home?
We own the dog and she is part of our breeding program, but she is the guardian’s pet and part of their home and family. When the time is right, we will turn over ownership to the guardian.
Why do we use guardian homes?
We want every dog in our program to have the individual attention and love they need. We also want to avoid retiring mamas to new homes whenever possible. We can do this by placing dogs in guardian homes to be their forever families! We bring a mother dog with us to whelp and raise puppies, and then return her to her family after the puppies go to their forever homes.
What is required to be a guardian home?
Live in Utah with no plans to move away. We will care for the dog when she has a litter of puppies, as well as arrange breeding, so we need families to be close.
Be willing to train, care for, and raise the dog according to our standards. The guardian is responsible for costs for care. (We cover anything breeding/whelping related).
Have a safe place for the dog to live and thrive.
What is the benefit for the guardian?
The guardian has the benefit of a high-quality dog - often pick-of-the-litter - as their pet for no cost (except the cost of care).
They may also be compensated each time there is a litter of puppies, depending on the agreement we make with them.
